AGAIN Is Complete

It’s 12:12 AM. I’m extremely tired, but excited.  Although my film has went through a lot of changes…for the purposes of the project I went above and beyond.

If I could of dedicated more time to sound I would of done a lot better with that. Since it was my first time ever filming or editing a short film most of my time was consumed by that.

I WILL BE FIXING THE PHONE – HANG TIGHT! haha

I  hope you enjoy it and tomorrow I’ll upload a new version that doesn’t have the messed up aspect ratio

Thank you everyone for your support!

AGAIN

  1. Doing a play-by-play with my emotional reactions!…

Intro panic voice sets the tone
    Music is great… love it
@00:44 love the greenery shot and the bee or dragon fly… and OH WAIT… is there someone behind that tree?
@01:09… is that the phone you’re talking about above? If so, I think it’s perfect the way it is… startling… setting me up to be suspicious of the shot of the door @00:15. Lighting on the door is perfect. Suspicions confirmed @01:26. Man she’s talking with leads me to believe she’s a psychatrist… the abrupt hanging up @2:11 gives me a chuckle.
I like (and am very impressed with) the expression and slowing fade to black @02:15 and transition to the blueish sleeping shot… very nice, very professional, really hit me.
@02:26 leading into a dream sequence? Or is she thinking? I shall see.
The painting shot @02:52 is very effective emotionally (though I can’t say why), and the laughing and floating voices have laid a haunting chill on me. Really getting into this… again, the lighting is perfect for the scene.
Love the transition via open door @03:05 into the tracks scene with After the Funeral… I can see why you were really excited about this film… It truly IS something to be excited about.
That shot of the sepia tracks with Funeral is really emotionally impacting now. Again, loving the 03:33 shot, the 03:50 slow scream with magnificent visual composition, and the behind-the-head subjective shot @05:25 (with change in color composition), and the final shots (@6:00) of the scene with slowing, double image, flurry of recall shots, and image distort.
    Waking scene…
Catch a glimpse of subject at ease @06:39 and feel that ease myself, and again a few moments later. But is this even the same woman??? @6:50 subject distressed and the contrast is unsettling for me. Great acting here, and that laugh creeping in, first @06:56 and initial impression is insects gnawing, like termites on wood, but quickly obvious laughing. Love how the inner (maybe outer!!!?) talking is almost poltergeistish… creeeepy, very effective… glued to it.
@7:26 back to door, using it to transition to outdoor scene… great!
@7:51 thrown-up ball of paper, and my penchant for symbolism is once again being satisfied… what does that thing mean!
Ok… a written note, one way to move the arc along!
Having a hard time understanding what is being said. I understand the effect and I like it, but I want desperately to understand it, expecially with such captivating visual drama happening. That music building is PERFECT for this scene… and the sweeping camera shots are Magnificent (yes, with a capital M). And Danielle’s final performance moments are extraordinary.
I love it… Yes, I understand why you were so excited about this… This is a gem of a film. I need to go back to the note again, but I’m going to sleep on it and return tomorrow.
But, yes Jen… you should be very happy with this.
And, no, if you ask me, you should not change that phone ring. I think it’s perfect.
    Congratulations and Bravo.
